Congratulations, Cathy & Jay

Cathy & Jay were married last weekend and celebrated at Foxchase Manor! It was fun to be at Foxchase again - twice in a row! Since they had a coordinator at their church, Cathy asked me to just make sure the reception ran smoothly. I was slightly nervous because they had a Korean restaurant dropping off food, an event rental company delivering tables/chairs/linens/china/glassware/silverware, and a staffing agency providing a wait staff team. Needless to say when there isn't one central catering company providing everything, I get a little worried! However, everything came together beautifully and I will be recommending the staffing agency again and again when I get the chance. Without further ado, here's some photos:

Cathy made these pretty place cards. Here's just a few:Barbara at Growing Wild created this stunning place card table arrangement:Look! They're mini cabbages! And kumquats!Cathy bought TONS of these little votive holders from IKEA and they looked so elegant:The room is set for 400 even though only about 330 guests actually came. Here, photographer Hyon Smith and his assistant are getting detailed room shots before the guests enter:An up-close look at the tables with Growing Wild's centerpieces and Cathy's cute favor bags filled with chocolate-covered espresso beans (boy did my car smell good!!):This is what a buffet for 400 people looks like:This is an awful photo of a good man (sorry, Ken!). Ken R. of Absolute Entertainment provided the perfect musical ambiance and is a great emcee. He was really a joy to work with -- check him out if you're on the market for a DJ! Here's a shot of his very professional setup:The cake was provided by a local Korean bakery:We thought this was a fireplace and Cathy had provided some pillar candles to go inside. However, to our surprise, it's actually an air conditioning vent of some sort! The grated doors do not open and they actually suck air in continuously. We tried arranging the pillars on the mantle but the drafty air from below kept blowing the candles out. I think it looks nice with votives and orchids lined upFoxchase is a beautiful and affordable venue if your guest list exceeds 200.
